Delta is currently working with the Kenya Human Rights Commission undertaking a review of the 2008-2011 activities and coming up with an operational plan for 2012/13 and a strategic plan for 2013-17.


Justice Sector Reform, Guyana

This reform programme aimed to address the serious challenges that faced the Guyana’s justice sector institutions. The Government of Guyana made it a clear policy priority to ensure that all the people of Guyana are served by an independent and effective justice system. (more…)


Systematic Review of the Administration of Justice Programme, Barbados

The Government of Barbados received a loan from the IADB to assist in the modernisation of the justice sector by improving current administration processes, enhancing access to justice and reducing the economic and social costs associated with criminal behaviour. There were three major project components relating to sector management, access to justice and young offender rehabilitation. (more…)


Governance, Justice, Law and Order Sector (GJLOS) Reform Programme, Kenya

Kenya’s multi-institutional sector-wide approach to governance, justice, law and order reform is highly ambitious and challenging. As a programme spanning over 30 Government departments and semi-autonomous agencies, including the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission, the Police, the Prison Service, the Judiciary and the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights. A review was carried out to assess the capacity for effective implementation and prudent financial management of the programme.


Training in the principles and practice of project management, Nigeria

This project was part of the UK Department for International Development (DFID) funded Access to Security Programme, operating across 4 states in Nigeria.  In one state, Enugu, better management of projects was seen as a key need for better justice sector performance.  To meet this need a training course was delivered to key justice sector stakeholders in police, prosecutor, court and prison organisations. The Delta consultant was responsible for preparing training materials for delivery of the course and delivering sessions on project identification, planning, budgeting, and monitoring and evaluation.


Safety, Security and Access to Justice (SSAJ) in the Balkans, Bosnia and Serbia

The aim of the SSAJP was that public bodies implement justice strategies which effectively reduce local tension and conflict and prevent crime.  The programme was separated into 3 inter-connected projects:

Project 1: Affordable and effective justice sector policy development -This project assisted the Ministries of Justice and the Interior in both Entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of affordable policies which link the various elements of the justice system and effectively address the needs of its users.

Project 2: Community justice project – The project purpose is to work in two pilot areas, at community level to increase fair and equitable access to justice through the Courts and focus the services provided through the Courts on the needs of local citizens. (more…)
